The company was founded by Vagn Hvam Pedersen in 1973 and is owned and run 100% by the Hvam family. Sons Stefan and Torsten have followed in their father’s footsteps and are today in charge of the company, the former as the Managing Director, the latter as Head of Research and Development.

Collaboration with Known Designers
According to Vagn Hvam Pedersen, one of the reasons for HWAM’s great success is that the wood-burning stoves are both beautiful and functional. Today, a wood-burning stove is something more than just a heat source. For HWAM, design, aesthetics and function are three sides of the same coin, so to speak, and this is the reason behind the company’s 40 years of collaboration with visionary architects and designers.

Keddy stoves

An Efficient and Reliable Heat Source

Keddy say that they love cast iron material.  Most manufacturers will tell you that their products are durable and resistant, which Keddy do too – but they genuinely seem besotted with cast iron. Keddy’s instagram page is literally aching with Scandi Hygge.

Referencing their Swedish Iron art heritage they applaud the materials ability to adapt to extreme changes in temperature and function as an efficient heat conductor with fast heating and long cooling times. This probably explains why Keddy make their stoves with a cast iron core.  With these highest quality materials they believe they create effective and reliable heat sources, and back that up with a 20 year warranty on all cast iron parts.

We have the 815 stove on live display in grey.

FORM AND FUNCTION IN A BEAUTIFUL INTERPLAY

For Keddy, design is more than a beautiful form. It is as much about getting the most heat out of each wooden log and to make it easy for you. Because stoves are a both practical and a decorative interior detail. All elements must interact for the results to be the best. By combining modern design, innovative technology and Swedish cast iron tradition Keddy create fireplaces unlike any other. A stove from Keddy warms “both your body and your mind”.

So, they build stoves that are built to last, and hold the wear and tear of time. What’s not to love?  Pop into the showroom to find out more.  If you can read Swedish, head over to their website.

Parkray Stoves

Parkray Stoves

If you live in a designated Smoke Control Area, the Clean Air Act prevents you from emitting smoke from your chimney. However, Parkray fires are not like ordinary stoves. You can use all Parkray stoves to burn well seasoned logs, even if you live in a Smoke Control Area.

The built- in technology ensures that emissions are consistently low. Modern Parkray models are supremely efficient; reaching maximum output of 11kw and some models even have the option to add a boiler, great news for everyone looking for performance and economy.

Parkray stoves

The Aspect 5 is DEFRA approved, features a large viewing window and no air brick is required on installation.  Options include multifuel pack, black chrome and stainless steel handles. The stove requires a 5 inch flue collar and utilises Parkray’s Tripleburn technology and hot airwash system to keep the glass clean.

PARKRAY TRIPLEBURN®TECHNOLOGY

The three streams of air cause an incredibly efficient burning of the fuel, which results in an increased heat output, less smoke and a cleaner environment.

EXCEPTIONALLY EFFICIENT

Due to the Parkray Tripleburn®technology, all stoves in the Parkray range burn exceptionally efficiently and cleanly.

INTERCHANGEABLE FLUE OUTLETS

All the single-sided free standing stoves in the Parkray range can be used from either the top or the rear of the stove, and the stoves feature a removable throat plate, giving full and easy access for sweeping the chimney.

INTERNAL LINING SYSTEM

The internal lining system maximises the rebox temperature, ensuring complete combustion.

COLD-HANDLED RIDDLING TOOL

The cold-handled riddling tool can be used for opening and closing the doors, riddling the grate, grate adjustment and easy removal of the ash pan.

Only available on the Consort range.

THERMOSTAT

Apple Pie and Peanut Stoves by Ekol

Apple Pie and Peanut Stoves by Ekol

The Apple Pie stoves by Ekol. Whether it be for a boat, yurt, glamping pod, shepherd’s hut or just a compact fireplace, ‘Apple Pie’ can be adapted and customised to suit. With its very low distance to combustibles this stove is ideal for small spaces.

Apple Pie stoves by Ekol

The central stove can be paired with lots of options to make your Apple Pie suit your requirements, from stands and metal surrounds to pizza shelves and baking ovens.

Ekol have gone to town on their Apple associations too. With a base unit stand, it’s called an Apple Pie Stack, with a top oven it’s called a Baked Apple Pie. With both, it’s called a Baked Apple Stack.  All this talk of pies made us hungry so we thought we should channel our inner Mary Berry and give it a go! It evenly baked this Apple Pie in about 25 minutes. Yummy.

The Apple Pie is the ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of wood burning stoves. It features individual styling and multiple cooking options including stainless cooktop, top baking oven, pan supports to one or both sides as well as griddle plate and pizza shelf inside.

Amongst an elite handful of small-space stoves fully compliant with DEFRA and Ecodesign 2022 it can be used to burn wood anywhere in the UK.

With full cast iron construction and weighing in heavier than many stoves more than twice its size, it really is built to last.

Primary, Secondary and Tertiary air are intuitively controlled by a single air control and with extra large window, enthusiastic fire-starters and chefs can easily monitor their creations.

From the Apple Pie range we have an Apple Core, in charcoal grey and a Baked Apple Stack with Mojave Red Doors.

From the Peanut range we have the Big Nut 5 in the Showroom.

From the Clarity range we have a Clarity 5 with a hand burnished door.

Available in multiple colour options and configurations, including wooden or stainless steel handles. Pop into the showroom to see the Baked Apple Stack in action, we also have the compact Apple Pie on show. Check out the manufacturer’s website here.
