Having dealt with them for over 25 years we have a good selection of their products and ranges in our showroom.  From the traditional design of the Huntingdon range to the sleek modern Riva Studio family, they even have options for double sided stoves and boiler models.

Our showroom aims to have at least one example from each product range offered on display.  In addition to their own branded products, Stovax are the UK sole distributer for Dovre, Nordpeis, Lotus, and Yeoman, and the Gazco brand of gas appliances are also part of the family, giving an unrivalled depth to their market position.

Most of the Yeoman range are very traditional designs with options of canopies and window crosses to give a cosy cottage feel.

In contrast they also produce the CL range of plainer more contemporary stoves with large clear windows, chrome handles and slam shut doors.

A range of gas and electric variants complete their family of products.

Multifuel Stoves

So what is a Multifuel Stove?

A multifuel stove is very similar to a wood-burning stove in appearance and design. Multifuel refers to the capability of the stove to burn wood and also coal, also sometimes wood pellets, or peat. Stoves that have a grate for the fire to burn on and a removable ash pan are generally considered multi fuel stoves.

Many of our stoves come in multi-fuel or wood burning varieties – in both contemporary or traditional styles.  We have a huge range of stoves of all shapes and sizes in our Colney Heath showroom close to St Albans, many of which you can see alight to get a real idea of how the stove would look in your home.

Multifuel stoves are our most popular products and all of us have them in our homes.  If you take care only to burn seasoned wood  and look after your stove it will last many winters and become the heart of your home.

We also have a strong continental influence in our wood burning stove showrooms with extensive displays from Jotul, Scan, Nordpeis, Lotus, Dovre, STUV, Barbas, Bellfires, Westfires, Nestor Martin, HWAM, Wiking, Rais, and Ortal.

In addition to our unique collection of thousands of original cast iron fireplaces, our architectural antique areas are extensive.  We have devoted a lot of time and effort to salvage rare treasures like stone sinks and stained glass windows alongside more common items like chimney pots, drainage hoppers and iron table bases.

Our extensive on-site workshops also allow us to manufacture commissions in natural limestones, granites, slates and sandstones.  These range from simple window cills and kitchen worktops through to hand carved ornate chimney pieces.

Alongside these traditional materials we are also utilising more contemporary materials like Quartz, Lapitec and sintered ceramic stones to meet the demanding requirements of our clients. We are happy to supply designers and architects as well as members of the public with our unique blend of products, workmanship and antiques.

Electric stoves

Electric stoves are a relatively new branch of the stove business and are generally steel or cast iron boxes with an electric effect mounted  into them with a fan heater underneath.  The flame effect is not usually as realistic as the wood or gas burning versions although some models are now using LEDs which is improving the overall effect.

Electric stoves are the ultimate in convenience, just plug in, set the required temperature and then sit back and relax!
